Article body:

History of the Navy is as important as the US Navy itself. The Continental Navy was established in 1775, that consisted of 60 ships, but after the American Civil War, the Continental Navy was abolished. However, after George Washington made threats to opposing forces, the Naval Act of 1974 was enforced and was made a permanent standing for the US Navy. There were six frigates that were the first original ships of the US Navy. Nerveless in 1882 the ships became outdated, so over the next few years Congress started to build multiple steel cruisers and battleships, which led the US to win two major battles in 1898.

The Navy continued to grow from there. They created the HMS Ark Royal as the first Aircraft Carrier in 1914, which was originally a merchant ship converted into an airplane/seaplane carrier. It had a stunning feature of a launch pad that made the planes land and take off smoothly. The HMS Ark Royal was the first ship to serve in the Dardanelles campaign. Therefore, because it was a success, the US Navy wanted to continue to improve the carriers. So soon after in 1920, an argued first US Naval Aircraft Carrier, The USS Langley (CV-1), came into play. This was the first turbo-powered electric ship that served in the WWII battle. In 1942, the USS Langley was attacked by nine Japanese bombers and was damaged so much she had to escorted back home. Nerveless, the US Navy wanted to keep improving their ships.

Since then there have been many upgrades and changes to US Aircraft Carriers to modernize them. They were made into nuclear-powered vessels that allowed them to hold and transport aircraft faster and more efficiently. Some of the more modern uses of the US Aircraft Carriers consist of a local base for aircraft operations, which can carry, deploy, and recover aircraft for a variety of means. They can consist of carrying around 80 fighter jets as well as additional helicopters. The speed of the Air Craft Carriers can travel over 30 knots powered by four propeller shafts. Current modifications include Eco-friendly elements that will increase the speed and overall use of the carriers. The weapons they carry on board are served for a nuclear war; the US Navy is always improving the weapons on board to better serve the country. Currently they are in the works of adding lasers to modernize the carriers.

In conclusion, as technology continues to grow, so will the advance of each weapons and aircraft that is boarded the US Aircraft Carriers. We can only expect to see additional growth in the near future with the US Navy Aircraft Carriers.
