Cigars: A Fine Creation That Is Here to Stay

The finest cigars come from Cuba, Dominican Republic, and Jamaica. The climates of these countries definitely contribute to the flavor of their cigars, which are structured by hand, one by one. Every year, millions of cigars are sold!

The Drying Process

The tobacco plant, which can produce up to 30 leaves, is planted late in the year for three months. They are picked up leaf by leaf and taken to a drying room, where they are hung to dry for approximately 3 months. This process is often referred to as ‘curing.’ When it is completed, cigars are ready to be rolled.

Rolling Cigars

The dried and fermented leaves are sorted by texture, color, and size. Cigars are rolled from 3 leaves: wrapper, filler, and binder. In order for them to roll more easily, central stalks are removed from the dried wrapper. Utilizing different techniques, each cigar is carefully rolled by hand. The excess tobacco leaf is removed with a sharp blade. Afterward, the tip is created, known as the head. In order to find out if cigars are the adequate shape and size, they are then pressed into plastic molds for up to 20 minutes.

Roll One on Your Own

If you want to try rolling a cigar all on your own, you can! To start off, utilize scissors to cut the middle vein from the dried leaves. Get a hold of a clump of filler leaf (lesser of the leaves) and mush it to form the shape of a cigar. To wrap 1 or 2 layers around the filler leaf, utilize the binder leaf (leaf with minor imperfections). To cover the binder leaf, the wrapper leaf (flawless leaf) is the choice. To glue the leaf on, clear gelatin or flour paste would do.

How to Adequately Smoke a Cigar

To properly smoke a cigar, the head should be cut and then the foot should be lit. Utilize a guillotine to cut into its cap. This would be about 1/16 of an inch down. Conduct a quick chop, because the wrapper might be affected if action is conducted at a slow pace. With your mouth, smoke should be drawn from the cigar from the head. Make sure to blow the smoke out!
